Unhappy after a butt lift: prepare for a second opinion
Being unhappy with a contour does not automatically mean revision surgery is the next step. A second opinion should first clarify the operation, healing stage, symptoms and the change you want explained.
General information for adults. Not a substitute for medical assessment.

Separate symptoms from aesthetic preferences
Write a short timeline from the original operation to the present. List pain, skin changes, swelling or wound concerns separately from size, contour or symmetry preferences. This helps the clinician identify which issues need medical assessment and which require a discussion of expectations. A sudden severe symptom is not something to hold for a routine revision consultation. Seek urgent care for chest pain, breathing difficulty or other serious changes rather than waiting for a comparison photograph.
Bring records, not a verdict from a forum
Request the operation summary, implant or product details if relevant, medicines, earlier complications and follow-up notes. Bring unedited photographs from before surgery and agreed review points if available. It is acceptable not to know exactly what was done; explain what records are missing. Ask the new surgeon what they can establish from an examination and what remains uncertain. Neither praise nor criticism from an online group proves whether the first operation was appropriate or what should happen next.
Ask about options, timing and limits
Ask whether observation, further assessment or an intervention is being proposed and why. Discuss when outcome assessment is meaningful for your operation instead of setting a revision deadline from social media. ASPS notes that additional surgery may sometimes be needed but results are not guaranteed. Request the specific risks of another operation, what it cannot correct and who provides follow-up. Take time with the explanation; do not agree simply because a reduced-fee slot or a package is offered.
Common questions
Does a second opinion commit me to revision?
No. Its purpose can be clarification, assessment and discussion of options.
Can a forum tell if the result is final?
No. The procedure and healing assessment matter; photos alone are insufficient.
Should I request records even if I change clinics?
Yes. They help the next clinician understand the original procedure and subsequent care.
Sources and information limits
Sources support general medical principles, not the UAE booking policies or service availability. Confirm instructions and local arrangements with the care provider. The update date does not claim clinician review.

Questions before arranging an appointment?
Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
