Surgical Lift or Fat Transfer in Dubai: Questions to Ask

When comparing surgical buttock lift and fat transfer in Dubai, avoid treating them as two versions of the same service. One mainly addresses excess tissue; the other adds volume using your own fat. The decision needs an examination and a frank conversation about risks, not just a shape preference.

Compare purposes before techniques

Ask the surgeon which concern they are treating: skin excess, reduced projection or proportions involving nearby areas. Have them explain what the proposed procedure does not address. If a combined plan is suggested, ask why both components are necessary and whether a staged approach is possible. A larger operation is not automatically a better fit.

Discuss fat-transfer risks explicitly

Gluteal fat grafting has a recognised risk of fat embolism and can be fatal. Ask how the surgeon controls injection depth and uses real-time ultrasound to keep fat above the muscle fascia. Professional safety statements support these safeguards, but no technique removes all risk. Ask how your own health changes the risk-benefit discussion.

Verify who operates and where

Request the operating surgeon's identity and verify the relevant local credentials rather than relying on a sales representative's introduction. Ask where anaesthesia and surgery occur, who performs critical steps and how an emergency transfer would work. International society membership or an overseas safety statement is not proof of UAE licensing or approval for your proposed procedure.

Identify the owner of follow-up care

Ask who will examine you after surgery and handle complications, including evenings and weekends. If travelling, establish how care continues after you leave Dubai and what happens if you cannot fly as planned. Include wound care, pressure restrictions and donor-area recovery in the discussion. Keep a copy of the procedure and discharge records.

Common questions

Is fat transfer non-surgical because it uses my own fat?

No. It involves obtaining and transferring fat and requires surgical planning, appropriate facilities and postoperative care. Using your own tissue does not make the procedure free of serious complications.

Does ultrasound guarantee safety?

No. It is an important safeguard supported by professional guidance, not a guarantee. Training, technique, patient selection, anaesthesia and postoperative oversight still matter.

What if the surgeon recommends neither option?

Ask which health or anatomical factors explain the recommendation and whether reassessment is possible. Choosing not to operate is a legitimate clinical outcome; a second opinion should review the same complete history.

Sources and information limits

Sources support general medical principles, not the UAE booking policies or service availability. Confirm instructions and local arrangements with the care provider. The update date does not claim clinician review.

Questions before arranging an appointment?

Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
